THE PROBLEM / ASK
PB sought to highlight to new B2B customers that their software product is not just a powerful map drawing application, but also a data visualization, analytics, and business intelligence tool via a transformational brand upgrade and a responsive, mobile first website.
MY ROLE
I was responsible for responsive wireframe builds and visual design as well as management of junior designer and collaboration with a UX designer.
SUCCESS METRICS
• 150% increase in site visits
• 600% increase in lead generation form completion.
RESPONSIVE WIREFRAMES
Below is the homepage responsive wireframes, from mobile, to tablet, to desktop. You can see that the visual design is almost an exact representation from the wireframes, the black overlay of text on the banner was used to help meet the design challenge of how to manage a lot of text in a small area. This technique was used throughout the site.
The website consisted of a products, resource library with video tutorials and a blog.
SOCIAL CONTEST SITE
With the MapInfo website, came a lasting relationship with the client that allowed us to also re-design their blog and pitch a social contest micro-site that we coined, #MapHero.
I was able to pitch and help sell the idea to the client and design the wireframe and visual design.
The premise was that users of the PitneyBowes software could upload and share their map designs. Each map designer could then share their map out to social sites to get more clicks, votes and interest while the MapInfo social team helped to promote. The map with the most votes won an iPad.
#MapHero increased Twitter followers by 40% and gave the client 28x more organic clicks to MapInfo within 3 months.
